More than a thousand people turned out for the inaugural Ruapehu Home Show on Saturday and organisers are marking it down as a huge success. There were 34 exhibitors in total, 10 from outside the area and 24 local. Organised by the Taumarunui Warm Homes Air Quality Committee, Chairman Bruce Broderson said exhibitors put in a huge amount of work to make their stalls ready for the day. “It was difficult to decide who to give the Best Exhibit Site award to as there were many outstanding sites that day and the committee understands how much work goes into making a site ready for a show.” “It was difficult to decide who to give the Best Exhibit Site award to as there were many outstanding sites that day and the committee understands how much work goes into making a site ready for a show.” In the end King Country Glass won the award for best exhibit site because of the amount of work and innovation that went into constructing its free standing site. Mr Broderson said the committee wanted to thank the community for its support in making the show a success, and all the exhibitors and seminar speakers who had the “foresight and courage” to exhibit or speak at the inaugural event. “We hope people enjoyed their day at the home show and left feeling more informed.” Press release issued by Ruapehu Press
