The 2009 Oceania Fly Fishing Champs will be based out of National Park Village at The Park Traveller Lodge. There will be five x three hour sessions over the competition days (19, 20, 21 March). It is expected to have six teams competing from four countries. There will be three river sessions, 2 on the Whanganui River and 1 on the Manganui-o-te-Ao River. There will be two lake sessions fly-fishing from drifting boats, one on Lake Otamangakau and one on Lake Kuratau.
